Official Bowling Rules

 

Team

  1. Team rosters shall include a minimum of 7 players, including at least 3 of each gender.
  2. Each string shall be played by 5 players, which shall alternate between strings such that everyone plays at least 2 strings per night.
  3. The minimum number of players at a match is 3, including at least 1 player of each gender.
  4. All players must be registered with the League to play with the team. Unregistered substitutes are not permitted. Any team found to be playing with an unregistered player will forfeit the game. See: Late Registration below. The captain of the team will also be removed from the game on the first offense, the second offense will result in a two game suspension on the captain.
  5. Late Registration: a team may add players to the roster until the day after the third game of the Season.

Scoring

  1. Each team shall track the scores on the provided score cards and turn them into the League Manager once the match is completed.
  2. No handicaps shall be used. The lowest scores of each game shall be dropped, and only the top 3 scores shall be tallied to form the team score. The top female score and the top male score will be recorded, with the third highest score from either gender.
  3. The winner of match shall be the team that wins best of three in the match. Each game, however, is counted in the Standings as 1 point.  

Equipment

  1. All equipment, including shoes and bowling balls shall be provided by the League, however players may use their own shoes or bowling balls.

Forfeits

  1. Teams must be ready to play and meet game start requirements at the posted game time. We will wait 5 minutes after the scheduled game time, if a team is not ready, the opposing team will be awarded the first string.  After 10 minutes, they will be awarded the second string.  After 15 minutes, the game will end 3-0.
  2. If neither team is ready to play, both teams shall forfeit.
  3. Any team found to be playing with a player not registered with the League or team shall forfeit the game. 
  4. Late arrivals will be permitted to enter the game and catch up with their team as long as they arrive in or before the 5th frame. If a player arrives after the 5th frame they may be permitted to catch up and play but their score will not be counted. 

Game

  1. Each team shall play 3 strings of 10 frames each against one opponent. The team with the highest point total will win the game.
  2. Each team shall play 5 bowlers each string, at least one each gender.
  3. If a team only has 3 people show up, which is the bare minimum and provided there is at least 1 of each Gender to avoid a forfeit, a team can play with 3, but will not drop the lowest score.  Whatever the team scores with their 3, in this situation, will be the team's score.
  4. Tie breaker, in the playoffs if the match ends in a tie each team will pick 3 players including at least one of each gender and bowl 3 frames. The winner of those 3 frames will advance.
